As today is my last day as a city office worker, I wanted to share some thoughts on the daily grind.
If you have a long commute, its your choice what to do with the time. Day dream, ruminate and inspire and challenge yourself.
At work, as in life, your reputation is everything. Be known as the person that happily solves problems for others and you will be rewarded when next you need a problem solved.
If you don’t want to know the answer, consider not asking the question. And, along a similar theme, sometimes its better to ask for forgiveness than to seek permission.
Above all else, seek enjoyment and fulfillment in what you do. If you cant find any, move on.
Thank you to all the people that have contributed to my career and working life to date. I’ve had a great time and wish you all the best both personally and professionally. I will think fondly of you all when I am dealing with stubborn pigs and errant chickens on the farm.
