You may have noticed Oscar, our Border Collie, in some of our pictures. He is very beloved!
We got Oscar from the pound when he was 18 months old. We know that his first home hit him with brushes and kicked him, as we have worked hard to help him overcome his fear of brushing and feet.
Whilst Oscar will now tolerate a home brush (with a lot of treats) he absolutely ardours the pampering of a professional groom and has formed very special mutual friendships with his groomers. Feet are also less of an issue these days – and occasionally he will forget his fears all together and lie on my feet keeping them nice and toasty.
There is another thing about Oscar – his very handsy or pawy. He will tap your body to help you wake up, gently rest a paw on your lap to say “cuddle please”, tap the door to remind you he has been accidentally left outside and rest his paws delicately on things, as if to say, “I own this”.
I hope you like these photos – Oscar’s lovely paws
